Tea buns

Ingredients

  • 50 g freash yeast
  • 2,5 dl lukewarm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 500 - 600 g all purpose flour
  • 150 g melted unsalted butter, cooled off
  • 50 g melted Bakkedal butter, or other butter with rich taste, cooled off
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Cardamom, after your liking
  • 1 egg for brushing

How to

Stir the yeast in the lukewarm water. Add the whisked eggs, half of the flour, sugar, salt, cardemom and the cooled butter. Stir it thorougly. Add the rest of the flour gradually until the dough is smooth and soft. Cover the dough with a damp dishtowel and let rise for 45 min.

Form 20 round buns and place them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Let rise for 30 min. under a damp dishtowel. Brush the buns with the one whisked egg. Bake appox. 15 min at 200C or til golden.

Tip: You can add raisins, chocolate or any other ingredients of your liking to spice thme up.
