Boem cake/torta
I love this cake, I have eaten it a lot of times, but it's the first I've made it. I made it as a birthday cake to my husband. It is surprisingly easy to make.
Ingredients
Sponge
- 3 eggs
- 1 dl oil
- 1 dl milk
- 8 tbsp. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3 tsp. vanilla sugar
- 8 tbsp. flour
- 4 tbsp. cocoa
Custard
- 1 l milk
- 200 g sugar
- 1 vanilla budding, budding powder
- 6 tbsp. flour
- 10 egg yolks
- 250 g softened butter
- 3 tbsp. Nutella
How to
Sponge
Whisk the eggs, vanilla sugar and sugar together til it gets light and fluffy. Add the milk and oil and whisk briefly. Now add the flour and baking powder and mix thoroughly.
Bake in a 28 cm in diameter tin for about 30 min at 180-190 C. Make 3 sponges in all for the cake
Custard
Hand mix some of the milk with all the ingredients, except the butter and Nutella. Pour rest of the milk in a pan and add the aforementioned mix. Whisk the mixture while it heats up and comes to a boil, and then whisk for about a minute. Set aside and let cool of while you occasionaly whisk so it doesn't lump. When cooled of add the softened butter and mix it .
Divide the custard in 3 equal parts. In one part add the Nutella.
Now assemble the cake, sponge - light cream - sponge - Nutella cream - sponge - light cream. Decorate how you want and the cake is done.
